Privacy Policy

BIOBUZZ Scorer does not collect, transmit or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party services. Everything you enter stays on your own device.

Match scores, team numbers, event names and ranking-point thresholds are written to your device’s local storage so they survive closing the app. This data never leaves the device unless you deliberately export it: the match log has an “Export JSON” button and the rankings table a “CSV” button, both of which save a file where you choose. Deleting the app, or using “Clear all” in the match log, removes everything permanently. We cannot recover it for you, because we never had it.

Scoring, the match log, rankings, the rulebook, the field reference and the timer all work entirely offline and make no network requests.

There is one exception, and it is opt-in. The Live event page can fetch schedules, rankings and results from the official FIRST Tech Challenge Events API. To use it you supply your own API key from FIRST. That key is stored on your device and is sent only to ftc-api.firstinspires.org, to make the requests you ask for. We never see the key, the events you look at, or anything else. Leave those fields blank and the app never touches the network at all.

The only other outbound link is to the official competition manual, which opens in your browser and is subject to FIRST’s own privacy policy.

FIRST Tech Challenge is a youth program, so we expect students to use this app. Because it collects no personal information whatsoever, there is nothing for us to knowingly collect from a child of any age.
